Yahoo Pay per click advertising in image search is also segmented according to the kind of images you are looking for. If you are search for beaches, hotels or vacations, you will see all that kind of advertising in the right side and also in the bottom of the page.

Internet speed test. What country has the fastest internet connection

August 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Internet speed tests in different countries. Do you know what country has the fastest internet connection? Netherlands, Israel, UK, USA, Japan, Canada, Germany, Italy, Australia, France, Spain, India, Brazil or China.

ClickTale collected and analyzed data from over 1 million visitors during the months of May and June 2008, they measured Internet speeds using the average page loading speeds from each country.

Page loading speeds vary from 1.1 to 5.5 seconds. Israel and Dutch surfers have the quickest page load, while Chinese and Brazilian surfers have the slowest page loading rating.

For almost all countries, the page loading speed vary between 1.6 and 3 seconds. The variation in Internet speed could have been caused by several of these factors:

  1. The disparity of communication infrastructures between countries.
  2. Broadband vs. dial-up penetrations for each country.
  3. The speed and type of the computers used to surf the web.
  4. The types of websites visited by the different populations. Rich media sites with photos and movies would take much longer time to load than plain text sites.
  5. The location of websites being visited also counts. Web Sites hosted physically near the surfers may provide faster page loading speeds.

The next graphic illustrates the results more effectively.

There are additional interesting results, like this one. For every added second that takes to load a page, a web surfer spends an extra 6 seconds browsing it. You can read the entire post directly in:

Advertising on YouTube’s mobile site in United States and Japan

Advertising on YouTube’s mobile site in United States & Japan

Google is running a display ad test on selected pages of the YouTube mobile sites in the Unites States & Japan. Test advertisers will have an additional branding tool at their disposal and the big opportunity to reach millions of people who visit YouTube every day using their mobile devices.

YouTube mobile advertising test will be evaluated closely the next several weeks to make sure that partners and advertisers get the most valuable and effective mobile experience possible.

Google and YouTube are experimenting with new online advertising strategies, I recently saw some AdSense experiments, like a little search box instead of ads where the users had the opportunity to search for advertising, a llittle strange because I suppose that people would’t search for advertising, they would prefer to search for content. By the way, Google has also opened the doors for more countries and languages for advertising in videos with Video Units, the adsense program was available only for US, Canada & UK editors, now more people will have the opportunity to earn more money using YouTube videos.

If you want to know more about YouTube for mobile devices watch the next two YouTube videos.
